as our
first Senior Companion Volunteer candidate. Total of three placements.
Guidelines for service: must be 55, pass a background
check, physical, and meet income guidelines under $21,000
single household and $27,000 double household including
medical deductions. A Senior Companion must commit between
20 – 40 hours per week. Stipend service offers
$2.65/hour and .35 per mile.
Veterans Focus Group:
Next meeting September 13, 2011. Meeting held every
other Tuesday. Group’s focus is assisting
veterans' families while veterans in service and retired
veterans'. Look for the change collection jars at
coming soon at local Businesses in Brooke/Hancock Counties. Special welcome to JoAnne and Russell
Campbell. If you know of
veterans needing assistance or volunteer’s interest in
serving, please contact RSVP at 304.527.3410.

to assist VISTA in 9/11:
Food Drive will begin on August 29, 2011,
volunteers are asked to donate any can or package foods to
the drive. Items can be dropped off at the Brooke County
Senior Center and also at Dollar General. Drive will end on
September 9, 2011 all items donated to the Community Bread
Basket and Mountaineer Food Bank.
Volunteers needed to decorate
“Remembrance Candles”
and Ribbon Pins on September 8th, 2011 at 12 pm.
Dinner to be held September 14, 2011 at
Brooke County Senior Center 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Contact

Moundsville RSVP ASAP will
be holding a Coffee Break-911 Remembrance Day to honor 1st
responders at the Sanford Center, 1600 3rd St. Moundsville,
WV. The day will begin at 11-3 with the guest being served
baked goods, coffee, tea, and punch. Responders will also
recieve a hand made thank you card from our ASAP children.
Running Fill the Bus Campaign at WalMart in Moundsville WV
to collect School Supplies for Youth.
RSVP will hold it's next Advisory Council meeting on
September 19, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Brooke County Senior
Center.

RSVP Fill the Bus Campaign
collected 362 items totaling $678.54 to assist local youth
with school supplies and toiletries. .

RSVP ASAP fundraiser
needs your assistance, please drop off your
receipts at the RSVP office or your local Smith Oil dealer
and RSVP will receive 1% of your purchase. Thank you Smith
Oil.

meals to the ASAP program until CHANGE Inc meals start.

Wide Senior Corps Project BHOM RSVP needs your assistance in
distributing 55 gift packets of toiletries to veterans or
