RSVP Volunteers Hard at Work
National Day of Service in Remembrance of
9-11
Thank you RSVP volunteers for assisting the West Virginia
Business Council on
National Day of
Service in remembrance of September 11 with their state wide food drive. September is Hunger Action Month, a
result of Serve America Act signed by President Obama. RSVP
assisted Mountaineer Food Bank with collecting
85 pounds of food at two local Wal-Marts, Weirton and the Highlands
in Wheeling. Participating volunteers were: Thomas
McBride, Barbara Visnic, Vivian Tustin, Tammy Croghan, Judy
Sargus and Hazel Shia.
RSVP helps at the Brooke County Fair
Thank you to RSVP volunteers who assisted
making the Brooke County Fair a success. Volunteers who
assisted with driving the van were: Al Anglin, Jim Brooks,
Becky Deitch, Dickey Laughlin, Art Quattrocchi, Cathy & Gene
Rusnak, Bill Thomas, Dave VanBevern, Hank Vincent and Peg
White. Volunteers also assisted with Bingo: Vera Morton,
Bernard & Vivian Hunt, Edith Cooper, Hattie Adams, Helen
Kohen, Becky Deitch, Bill & Sally Walters and Loretta
Ceccarelli.
We have received
4-ply yarn for Christmas Lap Robes, THANK YOU!
However, we have already given it out and are in need of
more..... Our ladies have been busy! THANKS AGAIN!

Coordinators for Brooke and Hancock Counties for Home Base
Mentoring at Community Day Report Centers.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Attend board of director’s quarterly meetings in local
areas, Wellsburg and Wheeling. Recruit and assist training
for mentors in local area and be a mentor. Supervise and
administer responsibilities.
Stone Pear Pavilion needs volunteers to
assist residents with walks, visitation and other needs.
Afterschool Adventures
volunteers are always needed!
RSVP is looking for sponsors to assist with
utility expense of St. Anthony's School Building for use of
gym and stage, if you can help give us a call at

New Faces and Positions
Please welcome Rebecca Fahey, (right) who
will be serving the After School Adventures program as
AmeriCorps VISTA sponsored by United Way of Central West
Virginia. Also volunteer Susan Sampson (left) who will be
assisting her. The After School Adventures program is
in need of some gym equipment.
If you have the following around the house to donate, please help us
out by dropping off at the RSVP office: Basketballs, Beach Balls, Playground Balls,
Volleyballs, Jump Ropes, Hula-Hoops.
