RSVP Volunteers Hard at Work
Neighborhood Watch
volunteers participated in the 2nd Ward Quarterly
meeting of 13 participants headed by RSVP volunteer and
captain Carol Alley and Police Chief John Schwertfeger.
Refuse to be a Victim Crime Prevention and Personal Safety
Training was discussed and is scheduled for August
11, 2009 and August 18, 2009 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at
the Brooke County Senior Center. Cost will depend on
number of interested participants currently estimated at
$20. Cost assistance may be available to participants. Open
to the public.

Hancock County
Senior Dancers stay in shape while getting prepared
to volunteer their service by performing at local
community functions.
Hancock County Dancers gather on Mondays at 1:00 p.m.
and Brooke County Senior Center Dancers gather Mondays
at 10:00 a.m. and Thursdays at 6:30 p.m.

RSVP plants
400 flowers for the City of Follansbee Beautification
project. Special thanks to Mayor Tony Paesano with the
City of Follansbee for the invitation and beautiful
flowers. Participants are as follows: Robert

be used for the afterschool programs and 2 ply yarn for the
Christmas project.....

handed out 131 file of life packets and received requests
for more.

Thank you Mr. George Smoulder, Executive Director
United Way of Upper Ohio Valley and Ms. Darlene Cortez,
Brooke County Representative, for your time in presenting
Brooke High School and Franklin Primary School awards of
appreciation for the Brooke County 2009 Walk-a-Thon.
Mr. Smoulder presented two $250 gifts to Brooke High School
and Franklin Primary School. Mr. Smoulder also
presented all participating schools a
certificate of appreciation.

Special thanks
received from the Holy Family Relief Center to RSVP for
the 50/50 donation of $202 raised at the RSVP Volunteer
Recognition Luncheon.
Also a special thanks to
those who have donated 115 books for the Afterschool
Adventures Program.
