Fundr aisers
A special thank you to Margaret Freshwater for donating a
wonderful quilt to raffle and congratulations to Scherrie Yost the
winner! The beautiful quilt raised $200, Scherrie was
delighted to win.
The
Lion King
(One Day) Pittsburgh PA
Trip to be scheduled February 16, 2008.
Reservations for trip due by January 1, 2008. Show will be at 1:00 p.m. $10 for ride and $24 for show
ticket plus cost of dinner.
The
RSVP Survey Committee discovered there are volunteers not serving
due to lack of transportation. Our advisory committee member
Fred Welshans, Jr. suggested we contact CHANGE
Inc.
CHANGE
Inc. has agreed to assist RSVP with volunteer
transportation. If you need transportation to your work
site, please contact the RSVP office, to make your travel
arrangements. CHANGE Inc. does request a $2.50 donation one
way to help with gas and vehicle upkeep. Please
do not let the travel cost discourage you from calling RSVP.
Travel arrangements may still be worked out between RSVP, CHANGE
Inc., or you volunteer station.
Teamwork

to Participate in the Corporation for Nation and Community
Service Dr. Martin Luther King Day " West
Virginia's Dream" Project. The challenge is for
West Virginia to have each 40 counties participate to benefit 40
people. In honor of the 40th anniversary of Dr. Martin
Luther King. Please help the Brooke-Hancock-Ohio-Marshall
County reach the challenge of 40 people benefited and register for
one or both of the following service activities:

Extra food trays were distributed to Brooke Place Family
Connections by Margret Freshwater and Shiloh's Christmas Party
by Linda Porreca . Extra homemade candy was
distributed to Children's Christmas Party for Children
with down syndrome. Canned food items and toys were
distributed to Salvation Army, REACH and Community Bread Basket.

Help Needed

Volunteers
are needed at the Weirton Christian Center. Duties will be School Mentor or Office Assistant.

Volunteers
are needed to assist the Alzheimer’s Support Group at
the Wellsburg Library on second Thursday of the month.
·
Overbrooke
Quilters
are needing two volunteers to help with quilting on
Wednesday’s from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

AARP
Tax Assistance classes in January for needed volunteers.
